Title: Green Tomato Mincemeat
Categories: Canning Pie
Yield: 1 Lg. batch

6lbGreen tomatoes; chopped
6lbApples; peeled & cut
2lbRaisins
2lbBrown sugar
1cLard; ground up
1cVinegar
2tbSalt
2tbCinnamon
2tsGround cloves
1tsNutmeg
1/4cJelly or marmalade; any flavor
  Orange peel; lemon peel; or citron (optional)

Chop green tomatoes coarsely, place in a large bowl, and cover with boiling water. Let stand 10 minutes. Drain well. In a large kettle, add all ingredients and mix well. Cook over low heat for about 3 hours. Stir frequently so mixture does not burn. Place in clean jars and seal and store. Ready to use in your favorite pie crust without further processing.
